Main Screen
The Version Workbench main screen resembles the Object Workbench, but only includes version objects. The versions are organized by template.
The Version Workbench organizes Version objects by template: Program or Batch. Other objects may be included in a project, but are not visible in the Version Workbench.
Option Explorer
The option explorer allows access to option values in an easy grid. By using the QBE line, it is possible to quesry your versions and see all versions that have Option Value = 520 for Last Status, or that have MCU = M30.
When your organization needs to introduce a new status in the order activity rules, you now know which versions to change.
These option values are stored in a custom table: Your system is documented automatically and these values are available for future reference or comparisons.
Data Selection Explorer
The data selection explorer allows access to data selection in a standard EnterpriseOne grid. Is is now easy to find all versions that select using a specific Status, Company or Business Unit.
Mass Project Maintenance
the Version Workbench allows the user to quickly add or remove versions from an OMW project, using wildcards. Forget the blue arrow to version-by-version add versions to your projects, use the version workbench instead and save time.
Mass Version Copy
Mass Version Copy allows you to identify the versions to copy from in an easy-to-use grid. Just indicate the prefix to use to copy from and to copy to, to then mass copy all those versions into new versions automatically.
Don't worry about the number of versions you have to maintain: Use the version workbench to maintain all those versions without hassle, quickly and consistent!
Mass Copy Taskviews
Use the option to copy complete taskviews, or parts of taskviews to create a menu for all those copied versions: This copy allows you to replace the version reference using simple rules (I.e: ZJDE* --> MYVERSION*)...
Rolling out into a new company just became a lot easier!
Compare Values / Data Selections / Sequences
The Version Workbench includes programs and reports to compare option values, data selections and / or data sequences between different environment, or one environment at different points in time.
These compares can also be generated based on the Version contents of a specific OMW project: Before moving a project up, a quick compare between the values and selections in the current and target environment gives you the certainty that the promotion will only make those changes you intentionally made!
